Get your kids to attend a four-day poetry workshop with author Sakshi Singh

Tuesday

“Poetry tends to be an underrated medium to learn language. It shouldn’t be, because kids take so naturally to it,” begins author Sakshi Singh.

To help promote this medium, Singh will be conducting a Weave a Verse workshop as part of NCPA’s ongoing Summer Fiesta.

“I will be teaching different forms of poetry, like limericks and acrostics. Then, the kids will brainstorm and come up with ideas to write their own poem,” says Singh, who will be using two of her works, Rat-a-tat and Jalebi Jingles, to introduce the young participants to poetry.

She adds, “Often, kids have the misconception that poems need to rhyme. This workshop will show them that this is not always the case.”

The workshop can accommodate a maximum of 10 participants, aged six-and-a-half years and above.
