Videos have become ubiquitous in today’s world, given the amount of content we consume via not just movie screenings, but also on TV and the Internet (think of YouTube shows interspersed with multiple ads, for instance). The India Film Project aims to coalesce different forms into one massive competition, which involves a mind-boggling 35,000 participants creating 1,700 films.

That apart, there will also be workshops and seminars where industry bigwigs, like director Ashutosh Gowariker and critic Anupama Chopra, will talk shop and educate the audience on how to approach the business of movies. Festival director Ritam Bhatnagar says, “The idea of creating workshops is to give everyone an overall understanding of film-making and creating web content. There are too many media we have today — the idea is to streamline the content into what is relevant to each medium.” So, if that’s something you feel you’d be interested in understanding, keep the dates mentioned below free.
